Why new parents?

I'm passionate about helping new parents because I'm new to this whole "being a parent" thing too. Even though I had read all the books and done all the research on taking care of my infant while pregnant and postpartum, I had not thought at all about how my partner and I would adjust to new parenthood as a couple.

I literally wrote my Masters Thesis about how the couple relationship tends to suffer during the transition to parenthood, but I figured "hey, I'm a couple therapist, my partner and I will be able to figure this out on our own." HA! -- reader, we were not able to figure it out on our own and you don't have to figure it out alone either.
